Just Don’t Bring the Merlot! Urban BYOWine Tonight at SIDEWAYS in Fremont

Warm summer nights in Seattle are winding down, as the nights become shorter and back to school ads begin to pop up; it’s time to kick summer in the butt and revolt against fall! This weekend, the Fremont Outdoor Movies is celebrating Alexander Payne’s popular SIDEWAYS with a urban BYOWine night.

It’s simple, buy a ticket, invite some friends, grab a few chairs and bring your I.D. tonight with your choice of wine (just don’t bring the Merlot) and enjoy a great movie of fear and loathing in Wine Country. On site will be joined by Parfait Ice Cream and Happy Grillmore, voted as Portland’s Best Hamburger and food truck.

Sideways is a 2004 comedy-drama film written by Jim Taylor and Alexander Payne and directed by Payne. Adapted from Rex Pickett‘s 2004 novel of the same nameSideways follows men in their forties, portrayed by Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church, who take a week-long road trip to Santa Barbara County Wine Country. Payne and Taylor won multiple awards for their screenplay. Giamatti and Church, as well as actresses Virginia Madsen and Sandra Oh, playing local women who become romantically involved with the men, all received accolades for their performances.

Sideways won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and was nominated for four other awards.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 on Eventbrite up until 30 minutes before showtime. AND WE ARE SERIOUS, DON’T BRING THE MERLOT! BUY TICKETS NOW
