Screen shot 2013-05-25 at 11.44.05 AMWe are proud to announce that this year’s line-up features a selection of Judd Apatow films chosen by our audience for the ultimate date night movies full of big laughs and outrageous misadventures in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad and Anchorman.

Starting on July 27th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies  brings you “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” directed by Nicholas Stoller and starring Jason SegelKristen BellMila Kunis and Russell Brand. The film, which was written by Segel and co-produced by Judd Apatow.

The story revolves around Peter Bretter, who is a music composer for a TV show that happens to feature his girlfriend, Sarah Marshall, in the lead role. After a five-year relationship, Sarah abruptly breaks up with Peter. Devastated by this event, he chooses to go on a vacation in Hawaii, in order to try to move forward with his life. Trouble ensues when he runs into his ex on the island as she is vacationing with her new boyfriend.

On August 10th, join Seth (Jonah Hill), and Evan (Michael Cera) in Superbad,  two high school seniors who lament their virginity and poor social standing. Best friends since childhood, the two are about to go off to different colleges, as Seth did not get accepted into Dartmouth. After Seth is paired with Jules (Emma Stone) during Home-Ec class, she invites him to a party at her house later that night. Later, Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) comes up to the two and reveals his plans to obtain a fake ID during lunch. Seth uses this to his advantage and promises to bring alcohol to Jules’ party.

Wrapping up the “Summer of Apatow” series is the return of our annual STAY CLASSY SAN DIEGO: Anchorman Movie Party that  includes a beer gardem food trucks, live music and on of our or favorite films of all-time, Anchorman.

In the mid-1970s, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is the famous anchorman for a local San Diego station. He works alongside his friends on the news team: lead field reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), sportscaster Champion “Champ” Kind (David Koechner), and a “legally retarded” chief meteorologist Brick Tamland (Steve Carell).

Ed Harken (Fred Willard) notifies the team that they have maintained their long-held status as the highest-rated news program in San Diego, leading them to throw a wild party, where Ron unsuccessfully tries to pick up a blonde woman. Ed later informs the team that they’ve been forced to hire Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) – the same woman that Ron tried to pick up. After a series of inept attempts by the team to seduce her, she finally relents to a date with Ron, culminating in a sexual relationship. Despite agreeing to keep the relationship discreet, Ron announces it on air.
